I was once again able to get a spot for Logan's Candy. It will be Thursday 12/1/2011 at 8 pm. The cost is $5.50 per child and that includes a bag of candy. The demonstration is about 40-45 minutes. Please let me know if you are interested in going. Everyone is welcome, including siblings. I have a reservation for 40 kids. Let me know as soon as possible as it will be first come first serve reservations. If you make a reservation, I will be collecting money on Wed 11/9/2011 from 6:30-8:00 at the Starbucks on Limonite (Jurupa Spectrum).
If you have never been, Logan's is a candy shop in Ontario that still makes candy canes the old fashioned way, by hand. It is one of only a few places still around that still does it this way. It has been featured on "How it's Made". The demonstration starts from the beginning when the candy is heated in liquid form in huge vats. They add color and flavor and they start twisting it into candy canes. They usually allow the kids to twist a candy cane each. Kids as well as adults enjoy the demo. They also have the world's largest candy cane on display.
The first part of the demo is outside, so bring a jacket because it is usually cold in December.
There are no bathrooms, so make sure you and your kids go before you come.
Tour is about 40-45 minutes long.
